Anastasia appears and demands that Marie's betrothal to Kyros be cancelled. For some reason, Anastasia's eyes are full of loathing for Kyros, but she allows herself to be led into the castle where Marie listens to her story. She begins speaking of their past and of how she was unable to protect Marie. What was the reason for the sudden change in Marie's life, the thing that left her in tatters?
