Gopal Bhar was a legendary court jester in medieval Bengal, serving in the court of Raja Krishnachandra, the 18th century king of Nadia. The King valued him as a Navaratna. His statue still stands in Raja Krishnachandra's palace, and stories of his exploits are told in Bengal to this day.
