Gopal Bhar was a legendary court jester in medieval Bengal. In the court of Raja Krishnachandra, the king of Nadia in 18th-century AD, he was valued as a Navaratna. His statue still stands in Raja Krishnachandra's palace, and tales of his exploits are still told in Bengal.
