Hanuman approaches Kaalnimi, disguised as a sage, for help choosing the herb needed to save Lakhshman's life. Kaalnimi plans to trap him, sends him to a lake to "purify" himself, and hides that it is deadly. Hanuman follows the advice, enters the lake, and ends up fighting a crocodile.
