Mahadev, in a fit of rage, burns Kamdev to death. Mahadev breaks his meditation and leaves the cave. Then, Rati arrives at the scene and finds that Kamdev is dead. Rati blames Indra Dev for Kamdev's death, and pleads with Brahma to breathe life into Kamdev.
