Far from the peace of Kailash, Tarakasura invokes Lord Brahma and asks for immortality. Brahma refuses, so Tarakasura tricks him into granting a boon: he can be killed only by Shiv's progeny. Devlok fears Tarakasura will use this to seize the realm of the gods.
