Thinna goes to hunt, despite a warning from Neela. He says he will conquer his god, and if he fails to do so, he won't show his face to her ever again. Neela feels bad, but Thinna is angry and determined to hunt and show Neela the futility of her faith. Then Thinna sees a deer just like his dream. Thinna tries to hunt it down, but for the first time, he misses every shot. His bow breaks and the deer escapes. Meanwhile, concerned Neela prays to the god.
