Sri Lanka put on an improved performance with the ball and bundled out Afghanistan for a sub-par total of 228. Afghanistan initially dominated the game as Gurbaz and Rahmat joined hands for a century-run stand after the first wicker and scored their respective fifties. However, their innings derailed after the two fell in consecutive overs. Sri Lanka batted for just 2.4 overs before the rain washed off the match.
