The No.11 seed Belinda Bencic was made to work hard, but she was able to make it to the third round of the 2021 Australian Open after her win over Svetlana Kuznetsova. Bencic took the first set 7-5, but Kuznetsova came back strong to claim the second set 6-2. However, in the final set, the Swiss was too good for the Czech as she went on to win the third set 6-4 to win the match.
