India defeated Sri Lanka by 38 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series. Shikhar Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav starred for India as the captain scored 46 off 36 deliveries and the ODI man of the series secured his half-century in just 34 balls as India managed to get 164 runs on the board at the end of 20. The Lankans approached the target aggressively, with Charith Asalanka smashing 44 off just 26 deliveries.
