New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first but were off to a poor start, losing four wickets to 12 runs. The English seamers bowled superbly as they restricted the visitors to a paltry 132. In reply, England got off to a positive start, with Alex Lees and Zak Crawley stitching a 50-run partnership.
