Defending champion Coco Gauff launched her title defense at Roland Garros with a dominant 6-4, 6-0 victory over fellow American Taylor Townsend in the first round. While Townsend put up a tough fight and took an early break in a competitive opening set, Gauff completely found her groove in the second, sweeping through in just 24 minutes.
