All eyes were on the Toyota Center at Houston, Texas for UFC 262 with the main event, a blockbuster matchup between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira. Chandler came out all guns blazing in the first round, landing a few knocks on the face of Oliveira and giving him a deep gash early on, but Oliveira came back strong in the second round, and 19 seconds in landed a pulverizing hook to Chandler effectively flooring him and winning the lightweight championship on the night via TKO. In the Co-main event, Tony Ferguson was decisively beaten by Beniel Dariush in a display of grappling masterclass.
