Some of the contents of safety deposit boxes have been stolen. So, Raylan and Tim set out to interview their owners. Meanwhile, Boyd also initiates a hunt of his own for the missing safety deposit boxes. As both, Raylan and Boyd deepen their search, they come across a stranger who is in Harlan to seal some real estate deals. Meanwhile, though Ava has been successful so far to inform Raylan about the happenings without drawing any attention, she fears that she will be exposed.

It's been quite a while since Ava has been working for Raylan as a criminal informant, but according to Raylan's colleagues, Rachel and Vasquez, so far whatever she has delivered is of little importance. Determined to persecute Boyd Crowder, they threaten to throw Ava behind the bars, if she doesn't pull up her socks. They also pressurize Raylan to coerce Ava for getting the information that can actually help them. Meanwhile, Boyd learns who is really buying the land in Harlan.

Ava informs Raylan that Avery Markham is funding Ty Walker's real estate spree and returns to the hotel only to find Katherine waiting for her, who then takes her to a drug-fuelled shopping spree. Meanwhile, Boyd Crowder devises an elaborate plan to take down the kingpin, Avery Markham and in the process he learns that his shady real estate deals in Harlan are the initial seeds of his bigger plans. Later, when Ava lands in the middle of Boyd's plan, she risks being exposed as the informant.

Though Ava is still working for Boyd Crowder as Raylan's criminal informant and is trying hard to keep herself from being exposed, Katherine and Duffy grow suspicious of her. So, they begin a hunt of their own and zero down on a prison guard who's behind Ava's mysterious release. Ava gets agitated and goes on a run to avoid from being identified as the informant. Meanwhile, Boyd furthers his plans to bring down Markham and his pot farming scheme.

After a long span of planning, Boyd Crowder finally unleashes his plan to bring down Markham and to drive him out of Harlan. But when the accidental murder of Calhoun takes place, some hunters discover his corpse. This lands Ty Walker in the hot seat. Meanwhile, even after trying desperately to maintain her camouflage, Ava finds herself near to being exposed as a criminal informant. She does whatever she can to save her neck.

Ty Walker is on a run from the federal authorities who are trailing him, but Raylan decides to opt out of the search for the wanted fugitive. Instead, he chooses to spend time with Winona and their baby. Ava's fear deepens when she and Boyd Crowder spend a night in a remote hunting cabin. When Boyd accuses her of lying, Ava admits she's Raylan's informant. She then dares him to put an end to her life.

The Walker manhunt escalates to a new level, worrying not only Raylan but Markham too. So, Raylan is only a little surprised when Markham offers him to become his ally in this hot pursuit. Meanwhile, seeing no other way, Walker offers Boyd his help to bring down Markham in exchange for a getaway. In the presence of a new partnership, Boyd redoubles his efforts to steal Markham's millions.

Over time Raylan grows suspicious of Ava's involvement as his criminal informant. He doubts whether she is truly loyal to him or is just misleading him. Therefore, to negate any undesirable outcome, Raylan recruits another informant. Meanwhile, as a new player appears to put forth her claim on Harlan's future, Boyd Crowder launches his daring and elaborate robbery plan.

In the wake of his botched robbery plan, a concerned Boyd Crowder looks for the means to accumulate enough money so that he can leave Harlan for good. Meanwhile, Duffy and Katherine join hands to rob Markham of his millions, and Ava offers Raylan one final chance to put Boyd behind the bars, but it seems Boyd is already aware of the trap.
